L.A. Samba Kids

Afterschool Program: Intercultural LA Samba Kids- a non-profit organization.
 
An afterschool program that teaches at-risk students creative alternatives to drug use and gang involvement through Brazilian music. The major goal is to build self-pride within each pupil by meeting to two basic needs of an individual: to love and be loved and to feel worthwhile to themselves and to others. Enhance awareness of Latin America and African Diaspora.

Just like Casa do Samba, L.A. Samba Kids is a brand new organization with a very important mission. Let's lend out a hand to this organization whose mission is to use music as an instrument to build self-esteem, respect and love in these children who so desperately are in need of a smile and a sense of pride. It is our mission as Casa do Samba to use our  Brazilian Cultural Arts preserve its roots, teach and through that promote unity and diversity. La Samba Kids is already doing that an reaching out to at-risk children every week. The Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel is a samba school of the city of Rio de Janeiro, being located on Rua Coronel Tamarindo, in the neighborhood of Padre Miguel.
